Johnny says: The Professor and I modeled the instrumentation for this song on "Yesterday" by the Beatles. He and I painstakingly played every string part on this song. You should have seen his paws gracefully pulling that bow across the cello strings.
My lovely sister had a timpani in her basement so I decided this song needed one. She didn't have a mallet so I used a cat toy--a mouse on the end of a spring that made bird chirping sounds. If you listen really close you can hear the chirping in certain parts of the song.
Professor Meatloaf says: I'm not as good of a cellist as Johnny would have you believe. In this song I refer to Tom--the guy from Myspace, where I started my musical career.
lyrics
I’m A Cat
Meow, I’m a cat
Meow, I’m a cat, man
I chase mice all day
I like to lay around, mowrr
There’s a piece of lint on the floor
I can hear you coming through the door
Because I’m a cat
Meow, I’m the bomb
Meow, I’m the bomb, Tom
I’m better than you
No matter what you do because I’m a cat
There’s a piece of lint on the floor
I can feel you coming through the door
Because I’m a cat
